Payment cards

What can be done in case than the payment card is lost?

If you lose your payment card, you can block it by using internet bank or by 24-hour telephone call 1813 (+370 37 301 337 from abroad). An application regarding the blocking of the lost card confirmation should be submitted to any outlet of Šiaulių bankas within 7 banking days. The card is blocked free of charge.

How to find out the balance on the payment card account?

You can check the balance on your payment card account as follows:

  • send the SMS query to the Bank at the number +370 6124 5070. This service is chargeable (each SMS received from the Bank will cost EUR 0.09). The Bank‘s SMSs are sent on daily basis between 8 am and 8 pm. If you send the query after 8 pm the message form the Bank will reach you the next day. Wishing to take advantage of this service you have to have a concluded mobile banking agreement; 
  • call on business days and business hours at 1813 or at telephone numbers of the client service centres. Also you can call the processing centre (FDL) at +370 5 215 1177+370 5 215 1188, mob. +370  698 54 466 24-hours round. The calls are charged according to the fees applied by the client‘s telephone operator;
  • connect to internet bank - it is free of charge, can be used  24-hours round at any place of the world which has the Internet access.
What could be done in case the PIN code is forgotten?

Please order a new payment card by log in to internet bank or in any customer service point of Šiaulių Bankas.

How do I change my payment card's PIN?

You can change the PIN code for Maestro and MasterCard payment cards yourself on any affiliated network ATM (Nordea / Danske Bank / Citadele / Šiaulių bankas). We recommend that you replace the existing PIN with a hard to guess code. When changing the PIN code, please note the following five things NOT to DO:

  • Do Not select a PIN where all four digits are the same, e.g., 0000, 1111, 2222, etc.;
  • Do Not select a PIN where the digits are arranged in ascending order, e.g. 1234, 2345, 3456, etc.;
  • Do Not select a PIN where the digits are arranged in descending order, e.g., 9876, 8765, 7654, etc.;
  • Do Not use the PIN code of another card used by you or the PIN code of your mobile phone SIM card;

Can I use credit services?

The permanent credit limit is granted for the card validity period under the conditions provided for in the agreement, covering the used credit limit until the last day of the credit limit validity.

The interest-free credit limit is granted for the card validity period under the conditions stipulated in the agreement.

Mastercard® Gold cardholders will use the credit limit free of charge for 45 calendar days from the actual day of using the credit.

To receive a payment card with a credit limit, fill in the Application for a personal card credit limit at any customer service point of Šiaulių Bankas or via the On-line banking.

How to activate a payment card received by mail?

After receiving the card by post, you will activate it by logging in to the On-line banking, filling in a free-form application specifying the number of the Card to be activated and confirming that you have received the Card and the PIN envelope intact.

How to use a payment card safely?
  • When you receive a new payment card, sign immediately in the space provided.
  • Keep your payment card in the same way as any of your ID or money.
  • Do not show or tell your payment card details over the phone or online to people whose reliability you doubt.
  • Use the combinations that are unknown to and unpredictable by others in the passwords required to provide information over the phone.
  • Make sure that the payment card has been returned to you after each payment.
  • Check your monthly reports on your payment card account regularly.
  • Notify the bank immediately if you notice any suspicious transactions.
  • Do not tell anyone your payment card PIN, do not write the PIN where other people can see it. After memorizing the PIN code, destroy its envelope.
  • Check the billing amount before signing the billing receipt or dialling the PIN.
  • If the payment card is lost or if you suspect that other persons have learned the PIN code or misappropriated your card, notify the bank immediately and block the payment card.
