“Apple Pay”

What is Apple Pay?

Apple Pay is a digital wallet on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac devices with Face ID or Touch ID that enables you to pay for goods and services. It has many advantages, one of the main ones being that you don’t need a wallet or a card to pay, you just need a smartphone or smart watch. The digital wallet is designed to keep the user’s data very carefully protected. It is used to pay for goods or services at physical points of sale, establishments, payment terminals or online shops.

How do I add a card to Apple Pay?

There are two ways to do this:

  1. Through the Šiaulių Bankas mobile app;
  2. Through the Apple Wallet app.

Important! You can add one card to Apple Pay on several different devices (different phones, watches).

If you want to add a card through the Šiaulių Bankas mobile app

1.

Download the Šiaulių Bankas mobile app from the App Store or, if you have already downloaded it, be sure to update it;

Open the Šiaulių Bankas app;

When you first sign in to the app, you will see a pop-up window inviting you to add your card to Apple Wallet. If you select a) “Add card”, you will be taken directly to the list of cards, if you select b) “Skip”, you will be taken to the first window of the app;

Go to “Cards”;

Select the card you want to use with Apple Pay and click on its image. The “Add to Apple Wallet” button will appear below;

6.

In the window that opens, click “Next”;

7.

Read the Terms and Conditions of Šiaulių Bankas and confirm that you agree with them by clicking the “Agree” button;

8.

If you have more cards added to Apple Pay, you can set your Šiaulių Bankas card as your primary card: open the Apple Wallet app -> click on your Šiaulių Bankas card and drag the card’s image over your other cards to the top of the list;

9.

That’s it! You can pay with your phone and Apple Pay!

If you want to add a card through the Apple Wallet app

  1. Open the Apple Wallet app or download it from the App Store;
  2. Click the “+” sign and select “Debit or Credit Card”;
  3. Select Šiaulių Bankas or “Add a Different Card” and click “Continue”;
  4. Scan the card or select “Enter Card Details Manually” and enter the requested information;
  5. Read the Terms and Conditions of Šiaulių Bankas and confirm that you agree with them by clicking the “Agree” button;
  6. Confirm your card is added to Apple Pay by selecting “Text Message” and clicking “Next”;
  7. When you receive an SMS from sb.lt with a one-time code, enter the code in the “Verification Code” field and click “Next”;
  8. If you have more cards added to Apple Pay, you can set your Šiaulių Bankas card as your primary card: open the Apple Wallet app -> click on your Šiaulių Bankas card and drag the card’s image over your other cards to the top of the list;
  9. That’s it! You can pay with your phone and Apple Pay!

Where can I pay with my phone or watch?

You can use your phone or watch to pay at locations marked with a contactless or Apple Pay badge:

  1. to use Apple Pay, your card must have contactless payment enabled;
  2. before you pay, make sure NFC is enabled in your phone settings;
  3. the transaction limits set for the card apply to the payment amounts;
  4. you can also use your phone to perform transactions at ATMs with contactless access. Cash deposits cannot be made using a phone;
  5. If you pay with Face ID:
    • Double-click the side button, then look at your phone and let Face ID capture and recognise your face (or enter your password).
    • Hold your iPhone up to a card reader that accepts contactless payments. Hold the phone until you see the successful payment message (“Transaction completed”, etc.) on the reader screen.
  6. If you pay with Touch ID:
    • Place your finger on the Touch ID sensor.
    • Hold your iPhone up to a card reader that accepts contactless payments. Hold the phone until you see the successful payment message (“Transaction completed”, etc.) on the reader screen 
  7. If you pay with your Apple Watch:
    • Double-click the side button on your Apple Watch and touch the watch to a card reader that accepts contactless payments.
    • Your Apple Watch will beep to let you know you’ve successfully paid.

How does a card added to Apple Pay appear in the banking app?

Once you’ve added your card to Apple Pay in the mobile app:

  1. instead of the “Add to Apple Wallet” button, you will see “Card added to ”;
  2. The option to disable Apple Wallet will appear in the card’s “Settings”:

If you wish to remove your card from Apple Pay

There are two ways to remove your card from Apple Pay:

  1. Through the Šiaulių Bankas mobile app;
  2. Through the Apple Wallet app.

You can remove your card through the Šiaulių Bankas mobile app in the card’s “Settings” by clicking the Apple Wallet disable button and confirming the removal:

  1. Select the card you want to remove;
  2. Click the three dots in the upper right hand corner, and select "Card Details";
  3. In the window that opens, select “Remove Card” or call the bank on the short number 1813 if you have lost your phone and cannot do it yourself.

The digital wallet simplifies everyday life and is convenient to use not only when paying in a physical store, but also when shopping online, as it saves your card details automatically without having to re-enter them each time.
