Information on changing hryvnia
We recently reported that an agreement was signed with the Bank of Lithuania at the beginning of October on the exchange of Ukrainian Hryvnias (UAH) into Euros (EUR). After a couple of months, the agreement expired and was not renewed, so please be informed that hryvnias are no longer exchanged at Šiaulių bankas branches.
"We are pleased to be the first bank to offer this service to Ukrainians in five Lithuanian cities. Since the start of the war, we have been working to create the conditions for Ukrainians to exchange their hryvnia for euros. Finally, we managed to reach an agreement with the Bank of Lithuania and at least temporarily ease people's start of life in the new country," said Mantas Lapinskas, Head of the Currency Trading and Liquidity Group at Šiaulių bankas.
During the period of the agreement, UAH 719 300 (or EUR 18 025.82) were purchased at five branches of Šiaulių bankas.
Those wishing to exchange hryvnia can do so at the locations indicated on the Bank of Lithuania's website.
