Novelty of Šiaulių Bankas: cash can also be withdrawn from an ATM in a contactless manner
Customers of Šiaulių Bankas are one of the first in the independent ATM network MEDUS to be able to try out the contactless cash withdrawal and deposit function.
The first 3 such ATMs are operating in Kaunas and Marijampolė, and will soon start operating in Šiauliai, Klaipėda, Panevėžys and Vilnius. The function of accepting contactless cards will be expanded in other MEDUS ATMs throughout Lithuania.
"Our bank's customers are already accustomed to using contactless cards for payment transactions at points of sale - currently more than 70% of payments are made contactlessly. Now our customers will be able to try this function at ATMs as well. This is a safe, convenient and time-saving function that we hope will be appreciated by our customers,” - said Andrius Kamarauskas, Director of the Daily Banking Department of Šiaulių Bankas.
The contactless card scanning function saves time and makes it easier for customers to withdraw or deposit cash. In addition, the use of this function prevents customers from a problem faced by them every day, more usually on weekends, when the payment card is forgotten and left at the ATM.
To perform a contactless transaction, simply lay the card to the contactless card reader in the ATM, enter the PIN code and select the preferred service.
The ATM network MEDUS is the first advanced infrastructure of its kind in Lithuania, and customers of Šiaulių Bankas can be one of the first to use it. All information about the independent ATM network is published on www.medusatm.com and www.sb.lt. The ATM network MEDUS is operated by Worldline Lietuva. In Lithuania, this ATM network is used by Šiaulių Bankas AB and the Lithuanian branch of Citadele banka AS.
