Questions about the Bank’s rebranding

Why is the Bank changing its name?

Last year, we introduced an ambitious strategy to become the best bank in Lithuania and the first choice for individuals and businesses. This rebranding and name change is one of our strategic initiatives to achieve this goal and become the most trusted brand in Lithuania’s financial sector. It is part of a broader transformation to offer even more attractive services to our customers.

We have been and remain a Lithuanian bank – our ownership remains unchanged – and we will continue operating exclusively in Lithuania.

As we grow and strengthen our position as a financial partner, we aim to be even closer to our customers. We have the largest customer service network in Lithuania, yet our historical name is still associated with a specific location. We want our customers to clearly see our growth, our ambition to evolve and modernise while maintaining our Lithuanian identity and commitment to being close to every individual.

The chosen name deliberately combines elements that reflect the bank’s vision and commitments. It sounds like a Lithuanian word, its modernity is conveyed through a contemporary word form, graphic identity, and logo elements, while the embedded notion of proximity underscores our commitment to being the closest bank to our customers. You can take a sneak peek at our new brand identity here.

Under one unified brand, we will integrate all Šiaulių Bankas Group companies – SB Asset Management, which manages pension and investment funds, SB Draudimas, a life insurance company, and SB Lizingas, a consumer financing company.

When and how will the Bank’s name change?

We will change the bank’s name in May 2025, once the registration process is completed. All our customers will be informed individually about this transition, and we will also announce updates publicly.

Šiaulių Bankas will become Artea Bank. We are also changing the names of other group companies: the life insurance company SB Draudimas will become Artea Life Insurance; the pension and investment fund management company SB Asset Management will be renamed Artea Asset Management, and the consumer financing company SB Lizingas will transition to Artea Lizingas. The bank and all group companies will operate under the unified the Artea brand.

Our new toll-free customer service number is +370 610 44447, and you can contact us at this number starting today. From 5 May, our new email address will be info@artea.lt, and our website will be available at www.artea.lt.

Will the bank remain Lithuanian? Will the Bank’s shareholders change?

Šiaulių Bankas is changing its name and brand as it continues to grow and enhance its services. We want to better reflect our ambition to be a modern Lithuanian bank that is closer to its customers.

The bank has been and will remain Lithuanian, and its main shareholders will not change. These are Lithuania’s business leaders: Invalda INVL asset management group; Tesonet Global, part of the Tesonet group, which develops and invests in businesses; Willgrow, the holding company that owns Girteka Logistics. Among the largest shareholders are also one of Šiaulių Bankas' founders and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The bank has over 5,000 small shareholders in Lithuania – residents who have invested in Šiaulių Bankas shares.

Will the operations of customer service branches change along with the name change?

The name change will not affect the services provided to the bank’s customers.

Of course, once the bank’s name is officially changed, customer service branches will feature new signage.

Currently, Šiaulių Bankas has the largest customer service network among Lithuanian banks, welcoming customers in 52 branches across 34 cities. Our goal is to be the bank closest to its customers – accessibility is one of our core values.

We strive to ensure that our services are easily accessible both in-person – at our branches – and online, in the most convenient way for our customers.

Will the fees and terms of the bank’s services change?

With the name change, Šiaulių Bankas customers, as well as customers of the bank’s group companies – SB Asset Management, SB Draudimas, and SB Lizingas, do not need to take any action – contracts, services, fees, and collection accounts will remain unchanged.

Only the company names will be updated: Šiaulių Bankas will become Artea Bank, the life insurance company SB Draudimas will become Artea Life Insurance, the pension and investment fund management company SB Asset Management will be renamed Artea Asset Management, the consumer financing company SB Lizingas will become Artea Lizingas. The bank and all group companies will operate under the unified the Artea brand.

All bank cards will remain valid until the expiration date printed on the card, customer account numbers will not change, and the bank’s SWIFT code will remain the same.

Once the name change is complete, we will update the bank’s website. There will be minor changes in the online banking platform and self-service portals, but the website addresses of the self-service platforms will remain unchanged. Logins for online banking and other self-service platforms will stay the same.

Our new toll-free customer service number is +370 610 44447, and you can contact us at this number starting today. From 5 May, our new email address will be info@artea.lt, and our website will be available at www.artea.lt.

What should I do if my company’s documents contain the old bank name?

With the name change, all of Šiaulių Bankas’ commitments to customers, suppliers, and partners remain in place, and all existing contracts with Šiaulių Bankas will remain valid under their agreed terms – there is no need to take any action.

Only the bank’s legal name and contact details will change, while all other banking details will remain the same. Once the bank’s legal name is changed, we will provide updated details relevant for issuing invoices to the bank.

These changes are expected to take effect when the bank officially changes its name in May.

Will my bank card continue to be valid?

With the name change, all debit and credit cards issued by Šiaulių Bankas before the transition will remain valid until the expiry date indicated on the card. There will be no restrictions on payments, and account numbers will remain the same. Customers do not need to take any action.

Once a card expires, the bank will replace it following the usual procedure.

Will the online banking platform and mobile app change?

As part of the name change, we plan to update the design of the bank’s website and mobile app, including the website address and contact details. There may be minor visual updates in the online banking platform and self-service portals; however, their functionality will remain unchanged, ensuring the same simple and convenient user experience.

These changes are expected to take effect when the bank officially changes its name in May.

Are my funds in the bank account safe?

The name change will have no impact on the bank’s daily operations. All services will continue as usual. We are a stable and reliable Lithuanian bank – and we remain so.

Our commitments to customers remain unchanged, and there will be no modifications to service or contract terms, fees, or charges. Customer account numbers and the bank’s SWIFT code will remain the same. Logins for online banking and other self-service platforms will stay the same.
