Sustainable solutions closer to you

For more than 30 years, we have been growing and caring for our clients, developing and delivering solutions for residents, businesses and communities. As a significant player in the Lithuanian financial sector, we value our contribution to a sustainable society and are guided by the Sustainability Strategy (EGS Strategy encompassing environmental, social and governance factors).

We strive to be closer to people and businesses, while our mission is to provide financial services that create shared prosperity and growth.

We understand that well-being is inextricably linked to our commitment to our environment, employees and clients, and to our governance practices.

The ESG strategy of Šiaulių Bankas has been developed taking into account the business strategy of Šiaulių Bankas and the assessments of internal and external stakeholders on the most important impact topics. The identified general ESG material areas reveal three core perspectives for the sustainable operations of the Bank:

The ESG strategy of Šiaulių Bankas defines a vision for each area, measures progress indicators and identifies ongoing and planned actions and initiatives.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

When developing our ESG strategy, we set our objectives in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs are a framework of goals established by the United Nations in 2015 to guide and help coordinate sustainable development initiatives. The ultimate goal is to ensure the well-being of the planet and people by 2030. The SDGs are used as one of the most universal methodologies for setting the sustainable development goals and specifying SDG linkages is an integral part of many ESG and sustainability strategies.

In developing our ESG strategy, we have also identified SDG linkages to the priority ESG areas of Šiaulių Bankas:

Affordable and clean energy
Sustainable cities and communities
Responsible consumption and production
Climate action
Decent work and economic growth
Industry, innovation and infrastructure
Good health and well-being
Quality education
Gender equality

Information on the ESG risk assessment

Together with the European Union (EU), we are all committed to achieving climate neutrality by 2050 (in line with the Paris Agreement goals). We, Šiaulių Bankas (the Bank), aim to contribute to sustainable business and economic growth. As one of the country’s largest banks, we have to take into account the environmental risks of our clients in the course of our activities, and we have incorporated ESG factors into our credit risk management policy and procedures to ensure that the activities of our clients are in line with the requirements of the Bank’s and the EU’s sustainability policy and objectives.

We invite you to find out more about ESG risk assessment and to contribute to a sustainable future.
