Open Banking
Open Banking is a new, globally evolving concept of financial technology that focuses on the use of open communication interfaces for secure communication (APIs) for new and innovative financial and information services.
The basis for Open Banking - Payment Services Directive [PSD2] which entered into force in the EU in 2018. One of the essential obligations of the directive - with the consent of the client - the bank will have to provide the other service provider (third party) with information about the client's account and access to it to initiate the payment service. This offers greater choice and financial transparency for account holders through open and private data.
