Opening an Account for Third-Country Nationals

Become our client and use the advantages and opportunities provided by having the account in Šiaulių Bankas. Once you open an account, you will be able to perform daily financial transactions quickly, conveniently and securely.

1. Filling in the Know Your Client form
  1. A natural person needs to come to the nearest Šiaulių Bankas client service point and submit:
  2. A natural person, not citizen of the European Union, who has an employment relationship in Lithuania, must additionally provide:
    • Employment contract (the contract must be valid or at least 1 month must remain before the end of the contract (when the contract is for a fixed term));
    • Or a letter from the company's director / human resources department confirming the current or effective on a given date employment relationship.
  3. Natural person will have to fill in the Know Your Customer form.
  4. The natural person (non-resident) will have to pay a data verification commission, which is published here.

After submission of the documents, natural person check will follow, which may take 2-3 working days and longer.

2. Opening a bank account

The bank account is opened immediately after the client's check. The client (resident and non-resident1) is charged a different account management fee, which is published here.

For residents, a bank account agreement is concluded for an indefinite period; For non-residents it is concluded for 12 months (with the possibility of extension for the same period).

For non-residents, a bank account is opened only when a deposit of the account management fee is taken from the client, the amount of which is provided to the client individually after his / her check:

  • The deposit is intended to cover arrears for the services provided by the bank;
  • The deposit is valid for the entire period of validity of the bank account agreement;
  • The deposit funds are pledged to the bank and the ownership rights to this deposit and all the rights to manage and use the deposit are transferred to the bank as provided for in Chapter XII of Book 4 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • Upon termination of the business relationship with the bank, the deposit is returned to the client. If the client has arrears for the services provided by the bank, they will be covered from the collateral funds and the deposit will not be returned to the client or part of it will be returned.

Upon presentation of a residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania by a non-resident, the standard service fees for residents are applied to the client.

3. Ordering / issuing a payment card

Card for a physical client for personal use

  1. An application for a payment card is submitted;
  2. An identity document is presented;
  3. For non-residents, the card is ordered only when the card deposit is taken from the client, the amount of which is provided to the client individually after his / her verification;
  4. A contract is signed;
  5. Issuance of the card (after 7 working days).

Business Card for company employees

  1. The head of the company submits an application for a payment card;
  2. The application shall be accompanied by the cardholder's identity document;
  3. After submission of the documents, natural person check will follow, which may take 2-3 working days and longer;
  4. Issuance of the card to the head of the company (after 7 days from the inspection of the natural person).
