Security recommendations

Security of Šiaulių Bankas Internet Bank of (hereinafter - the IB) shall be ensured by several levels of protection. However, each person, by signing on-line banking service agreement must comply with security measures - to safe keep login instruments, prevent other parties from getting aware of secret personal identification data.

Basic security recommendations when using the IB

Safe keep the IB identification data: User name (ID), primary password, login password, generator PIN code, mobile signature (M. signature) sPIN1 / sPIN2 codes, electronic signature (Mobile-ID) PIN code, Smart-ID PIN1 / PIN2 codes, IB agreement.

Do not disclose your login password and other sensitive private data of identification to anyone. Bank staff, law enforcement and other public officials will never ask you for this information by phone, by email, via social networks or in other forms. Be vigilant and do not give up to the psychological pressure of the fraudsters.

The security of your computer

Use computers that are running legal and up-to-date operating systems, such as Windows 10, or other supported operating systems. Avoid using operating systems that have no updates and are no longer supported by the manufacturers, such as Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP.

We recommend that you only use the new versions of browsers supported by the manufacturers: Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari. Avoid using unsupported browsers that have no updates, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer

Timely update your antivirus system, anti-spyware and firewalls. Make sure that other programs used on your computer were updated. In particular, pay attention to the programs that are used by the web browser Adobe Flash, Adobe Reader, Java.

Be vigilant and responsible

Don't visit unknown websites: the most common malicious programs (viruses, spyware, etc.) are distributed by email and non-secure websites, as well as strangers’ posts on social networking accounts.

Your IB password must contain different characters and figures. Do not use easy-to-guess information for the password, such as your name, date of birth, pet's name, etc. Check out more on how to create a secure password here.

Store IB means of identification in the places unreachable for unauthorized persons, do not keep them all together, do not carry such information in your wallet. Do not disclose your login and identification data to anyone and don't even give it to someone you know or to the persons saying that they represent the Bank, public or law authorities. If you wish to have your accounts available to your family members, please refer to Šiaulių bankas, such persons will be issued separate means of identification.

Please remember that Šiaulių bankas will never send emails asking for your IB login data. If you receive a suspicious email, do not click any links in it, do not open the attachments and immediately inform Šiaulių bankas about such e-mail by tel. 1813 (when calling from abroad 370 37 301 337).
