Bank Account
Become our customer and take advantage of the opportunities provided by the account at Šiaulių Bankas. When you open an account, you can quickly, conveniently and securely carry out daily financial transactions.

When you open an account, you will be able to:
- Store and accumulate funds in the account in all currencies with which the bank works
- Choose a "Service Plan"
- Cash out the funds in the account at each of the Šiaulių Bankas customer service department or ATMs
- Supplement the account with cash at each bank department or ATMs
- Transfer funds to other accounts in Lithuania or abroad
- Receive funds transferred to you
- Buy and sell foreign currency
- Associate the account with payment card and receive a credit limit
- Receive wages and other income
- Pay utility bills.
You will be able to manage your account in the most convenient way:
- By arriving to the nearest customer service department of Šiaulių Bankas
- Via internet bank
- By using mobile banking services “SMS bank”
- By using the mobile app "Šiaulių Bankas".
How to open an account?
You need to come to the nearest Šiaulių bankas customer service unit and present an identity document.
If you are a citizen of the Republic of Lithuania, you must submit one of the following documents to establish your identity:
- Passport of the Republic of Lithuania;
- Identity card of the Republic of Lithuania.
If you are a national or resident of any other EEA* Member State, you must provide one of the following documents to identify you:
- Passport issued by an EEA state;
- Identity card issued by an EEA state;
- Temporary or permanent residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania or an EEA country may be submitted as an additional document.
If you are not a national of an EEA country, you must provide one of the following documents to identify you:
- Passport (a passport issued by a non-EEA state must have a valid visa, if required, see http://keliauk.urm.lt/lt/atvykstantiems/vizos/kuriu-saliu-pilieciams-reikia-vizos-atvykstant-i-lietuva);
- Temporary or permanent residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania or an EEA country may be submitted as an additional document.
In addition, a document confirming the reason for entry into the Republic of Lithuania must be submitted, which may be one of the following documents:
- employment contract (the contract must be valid or must remain for at least 1 month before the end of the contract (when the contract is for a fixed term));
- a letter from the company's director / human resources department confirming the current or effective employment relationship;
- declaration of residence (if the person has come to live);
- marriage certificate (if the person is married to a citizen of the Republic of Lithuania);
- a certificate of studies issued by an educational institution (if the person is a student in an educational institution of the Republic of Lithuania).
You will have to fill in the natural person’s form "Know your customer". If you are a taxpayer in the United States, you will need to complete an additional document (see here for more information).
The submitted documents will be followed by a natural person check, which may last 1-3 working days and longer.
*The EEA is the European Economic Area to which the Member States of the European Union belong, as well as Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
If you are our customer and want to open a new account, you can fill out an application to open an account via internet bank.
If you want to open an account in another person's name or another person wants to open an account for you, you must provide a notarized power of attorney.
Several individuals (co-owners of the account) can open an account. Then, the account contract specifies how the co-owners dispose the cash, either individually or separately.
A bank account can also be opened for a minor. The bank account of a minor under the age of 14 is managed by one of the parents, adoptive parents or guardians.
If an account is opened for a minor (up to 14 years of age), the following must be presented:
- identity document of both or one of the parents/adoptive parents/guardians;
- birth certificate of the child (issued before 31/12/2016, inclusive) or an extract of birth certificate (issued after 01/01/2017, inclusive);
- additionally, the Bank may be provided with the identity document of the child (where available);
- documents certifying that the person is a legitimate guardian or adoptive parent of the child;
- a confirmation of one of the parents/adoptive parents/guardians regarding the disposal of funds in the account approved by the Bank.
If an account is opened for a minor (14–18 years of age), the following must be presented:
- all of the above documents;
- a consent signed by both or one of the parents/adoptive parents/guardians regarding the conclusion of the Account Agreement and disposal of funds approved by the Bank.
A saving account is a limited-use account intended exclusively for the servicing of savings products (eg deposits) distributed by the Bank, when the person wishing to keep the deposit does not wish to have a bank account with the Bank.
With the Saving Account, you will be able to make a deposit transaction and receive accrued interest.

You will be able to dispose of the funds in the account according to the fees set in the Bank's Service Fees.
The Bank has the right to unilaterally terminate the Saving Account Agreement and close the account if the customer does not conclude a deposit transaction within 30 (thirty) calendar days from the conclusion of the agreement or does not use the saving products distributed by the Bank within 30 (thirty) calendar days.
How to open an account?
Please visit any customer service point of Šiaulių Bankas and sign the Saving Account Agreement. Bring an identity document - passport or identity card - with you.
