Measures and transactions
Bonds are the debt securities, issued by governments, financial institutions, companies or other financial institutions. When buying bonds, the investor lends funds to the bond issuer. The issuer undertakes to pay interest to the persons who have acquired such securities on predetermined periods, and in the end of bonds validity period to pay out their nominal value. Bonds are associated with relatively small risk, but profit also is not high.
This is a collective investment tool, i.e. common partial ownership of assets of investors, invested by fund managementcompany according to a certain strategy. Management of the money invested into the funds is entrusted to reliable investment professionals. Investors, depending on risk tolerance can choose the most appropriate type of investment funds (equity funds, bond funds, mixed funds, money market funds, index funds or funds of funds).
Units of these investment funds are traded on the stock exchange, so it is easier to buy and sell them than the units of conventional investment funds. Value of these funds is often linked to a particular index (energy resources, technology, other goods or raw materials, precious metals, etc.), so along with changing index, the fund unit price varies accordingly. Exchange traded funds generally are not actively managed. Their units are traded on the stock exchange like shares of a company.
Value of these instruments (transactions or agreements) depends on changes in the value of the financial instruments or assets associated with the derivatives. Most often selection, forward, futures and other transactions are made, the subject of which is linked to shares, bonds, raw materials, precious metals, currencies, interest rates or other goods. Period of these instruments can vary from a few days to several years.
The transaction in which one party, for money, transfers other party financial assets committing within the set time limit to repurchase them on given conditions. This is a quick and convenient way to borrow money for a certain period of time securing it with the financial instruments available.
